This 473ml can pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some random splattered and chunky lace around the glass as it rather lazily subsides.
It smells of dank pine resin, bready and doughy cereal malt, some muddled tropical fruitiness, further domestic citrus rind, a hard water flintiness, and more leafy, weedy, and musky green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, some pineapple, guava, and kiwi exotic fruity notes, steady orange and generic grapefruit citrus peel, a damp minerality, and some herbal, weedy, and piney verdant hoppiness. The carbonation is fairly demure in its coma-tempting frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and generally smooth, with a wee airy creaminess evolving as things warm up a tad around here. It finishes off-dry, the malt and mixed frooty essences tangoing into the lingering night.
Overall – this comes across as a more than competently crafted version of the IPA sub-style, nice and fruity and almost bereft of bitterness. Easy to put back, with zero sign of the extra point or so of the ol’ wowee sauce. Definitely worth checking out, before (as stated by the brewery itself) it ‘will be gone as quickly as it arrived’.
